Our annual events include:
DIA DE LOS MUERTOS FESTIVAL: Join us every November at Concordia Cemetery to celebrate Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead). The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember loved ones who have passed on.
The Society, along with the Concordia Heritage Association, celebrate the traditional way in honor of the dead with a family based festival.
WALK THRU HISTORY:
Concordia Heritage Association invites the public to take a walk through Concordia Cemetery and learn about El Paso’s exciting history by visiting with early leading citizens, pioneers, ranchers, Buffalo Soldiers, an Ex-Mexican President, Priests and Clergy, Gunfighters Shady Ladies and many others.
Volunteers dress in period costume and share historical vignettes of Concordia Cemetery’s Eternal Residents.
Visit El Paso’s own “Boot Hill” where Gunfighter John Wesley Hardin, lawmen, Texas Rangers and many other wild west figures are buried.
Step back in time and watch Gunfighters Six Guns and and Shady Ladies and the San Elizario Desperado's recreate dramatic and melodramatic reenactments of El Paso’s wilder times!
The Paso Del Norte Paranormal Society will have walk around tours of the cemetery.
JOHN WESLEY HARDIN SECRET SOCIETY:
Every year the Secret Society meets to "Relive and Celebrate" that fateful
evening, in August 1895, when Gunfighter John Wesley Hardin met his demise at the hands of that dastardly Constable "Uncle" John Selman!
Join us graveside this Aug. 16, 2014 at 6:00 PM to relive that "fateful night" in 1896.
Event re-enacted by El Paso’s own Wild West Show "Six Guns and Shady Ladies".
Short Ghost Tours by Paso Del Norte Paranormal Society of the cemetery will also be offered.
NOTE: Bring folding chairs, flash lights and wear closed toe shoes.
