| Why do people wear black to funerals? |

![]() In modern times, black is generally the approved color for mourning but, in medieval times, it was believed that black should be worn to funerals so the spirit of the deceased couldn't recognize the family or friends and follow them home. In some middle eastern countries, they wear white to funerals. In some latin cultures, it is believed to wear black to funerals to blend in with death. Since death came, they don't want to be seen, so they hide in darkness. It depends on the culture, but one thing most agree is this: "Doesn't matter what you wear to a funeral, as long as you go."
